Cars and vans use a two-rate system. The first 10,000 miles in a tax year are at 55p, then 25p per mile thereafter.
Business mileage is typically calculated on a tax year basis (6 April to 5 April in the UK). Reset your mileage counter at the start of each tax year.
The mileage allowance is intended to cover all vehicle-related costs including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and depreciation.
